Shadae Akins-Dent
MSW Intern
Hello, I am the MSW Intern with a deep passion for mental health and helping others feel supported, understood, and valued. My journey began through years of administrative work in diverse settings, where I developed a strong appreciation for the importance of empathy, organization, and human connection. This passion led me to pursue my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Azusa Pacific University and continue my education in the Master of Social Work program at National University.
Having worked in school settings and volunteered with The Crisis Textline, I find that my greatest hope is to work with children and families, desiring to walk alongside them as they heal, grow, and strengthen their relationships. I believe in meeting individuals where they are and creating a safe, compassionate space for healing. As an intern with H.O.M.E, I am committed to serving the community with care, dedication, and genuine compassion, being sure that I support one person and one family at a time.
