Help for Victims of Crime in California
Everyone’s healing looks different. Our role is to meet you where you are and connect you with emotional, psychological, and practical support so you can begin to rebuild your life.
What It Means to Be a Victim of Crime
Crime impacts more than your sense of safety – it can affect your emotions, finances, and relationships. You may experience:
Fear, anger, or anxiety
Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
Changes in trust or relationships
How HOME Can Help
We offer trauma-informed mental health services to support your healing after a crime.
All our services are available via telehealth, making it easy to get care from anywhere in California.

Financial Help for Victims
If you’ve experienced a violent crime, you may qualify for financial compensation through the California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB). CalVCB can help pay for:
- Medical or dental care
- Counseling or therapy costs
- Income loss due to trauma or injury
- Relocation for safety
For more information about resources and compensation for victims of crime, visit the California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB).
Know Your Rights
Under Marsy’s Law (Victims’ Bill of Rights Act of 2008), you have:
The right to be treated with dignity and respect
The right to be informed about case developments and parole hearings
The right to be heard in court proceedings
The right to restitution and compensation
Healing takes time, but you’re not alone in this.
At HOME, our goal is to help victims of crime feel safe again – emotionally and mentally. Through professional counseling, empathy, and connection, we’re here to support your recovery journey.
