Spencer Shanks

BSW Intern

Spencer was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She is a rising senior at Tuskegee University, home of a national historic site, located in Tuskegee, AL. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Spencer is a proud member of Phi Alpha Honor Society (for Social Work) where she holds the position of President of the Tau Theta Chapter. She was selected to serve as Tuskegee’s Miss Social Work for the 2024-2025 school year and will serve as President of the Social Work Alliance Club in her senior year. Spencer believes in the importance of mental health and wellness. Her goal is to become a passionate advocate in the Social Work field by assisting individuals, families, and communities to overcome life’s barriers. Spencer is classically trained in ballet and enjoys reading, trips to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
